[OSM-newbies] I know that's one lane street - what should I do?

Hello. I wanted to start contributing to OSM. I have no GPS device yet (I'll
have Freerunner in a week) so I started editing. I discovered that one street
is mark as two-lane street in a place in which it is one-lane only (it splits
few hundreds meters from the crossroad). What should I do:
- Edit it as I think it is using the GPS raw data (merge it on some part)
- Mark it by some special tag (which one)
- Wait and measure myself
