[OSM-newbies] Converting GPS tracks to ways

Running Firefox 2.0.0.14 with Flash Player version 9,0,47,0 gets me
the GPS trace on the edit screen, but the START PLAY HELP TRACK
buttons only show up at the bottom of the screen for a second, then
dissappear.

However, I just hit the edit button on the Traces page, and then
quickly hit the TRACK button on the Potlatch editing page before it
disappeared. The trace turned red, and I was able to edit the trace,
and then submit it to the database.

So, this leaves me with 2 questions...

1) Why does the trace not ever show up in IE7?

2) Why do the START PLAY HELP TRACK buttons only appear for a second in Firefox?
