[OSM-newbies] Connecting to eTrex to Mac

which one of the eTrex series is it?

If it provides a mini usb socket, simply connect it to the Mac, install 
GpsBabel (or, [adv], gebabbel.sf.net) and download the stuff from your 
device.

To get the tracks from an optional sd card, switch the device to mass storage 
mode via its settings menu. It will then appear as a volume on your desktop.
