[OSM-newbies] US TIGER vs. user-entered data

I'd hate to lose metadata that might be useful later on, like the zipcode 
data, etc.  On the other hand, I don't want to make non-TIGER data look like 
it was actually imported from TIGER.

A related question: if I need to modify a TIGER-imported road to show two 
separated opposing directions, since the second direction was not imported 
from TIGER should it have TIGER attributes??
