[OSM-newbies] JOSM - problem importing images

Hi,

I'm new to OSM and JOSM so please bear with me.

When I try to import images into JOSM I always get an error message 'no images 
with readable timestamp'.

The images have EXIF timestamps (checked with jhead). This happens with images 
from several different cameras.

I'm using JOSM on Linux (openSuSE 11.1). I have the problem with both the 
version from SVN as with the version from the SuSE GEO repository.

Any idea what could be wrong?
