Thank you, I'd forgotten to include the link.
I thought using aerialway would confuse routing algorithms. For that
reason I would say it's a bridge. Also, it _is_ technically a bridge; a
structure that spans a gap, and every other map I've seen draws it as
bridge. It's only in use that it is like a ferry.
It seems to be ignored by most (web, GPS units) routing systems though.
So OSM has a chance to outdo the competition here. :P

There is a similar sized one near Bilbao, Spain

What is sorely needed is some wiki page(s) on editing for newbies. The
wiki Beginner's guide is, umm, basic.
