Hello all, 

Sorry for cursing :-). I said.

But there is the other map and GPS maker: Garmin company. 

One of the products they make is the MapSource software (with a map included
afaik) or the Trip and Waypoint Manager (without a detailed map).

Does anyone know if it is possible (technically) and allowed (under the Open
Licenses) to use the OSM-map in combination with this Garmin-software?

In other words: can you download mapimages into the software-programs and
eventually into a Garmin GPS for navigation purposes?

I do not possess any Garmin products (yet), but I'm interested in the route
planning facilities they offer.
