[OSM-newbies] Name boundaries?

I'd like to start adding "name=City of Somename" tag to 
boundary=administrative tagged ways. JOSM doesn't pick up the place_name 
tag, only displaying the number of nodes and id in selection lists, etc. It 
would be better to see the name in these cases.

Anyone have a problem with me adding such tags? (even just as a temp fix 
until I can figure out how to work on the JOSM project and get it to be 
smarter about such things)
