[OSM-newbies] Caching WMS layers

I mean WMS, and yes, I discovered that about squid; it's quite annoying.

Tilecache looks promising, but I can't figure out how to use it even 
after spending weeks pouring over documentation to figure it out.  Has 
anybody here set it up?
