[OSM-newbies] Any purpose for both an closed way, and a separate node in the centre?

Yes.

I like Claudius's idea. The process is:

1. Move existing node to a corner of the area.

2. Draw the area (closed way), using the old node as a corner.

3. Copy the tags from the old node and then delete them from that node.

4. Paste the tags to the new way.


I don't think there are any, but if there are found to be shapes for which 
the renderers cannot auto-determine a correct position to render the name, 
we could add a location_hint node[0] to tell it where to put the name.
