[OSM-newbies] Editing a gps trace

...but if you then click "save" it says "nothing to save" - you STILL
have to click aaall the way through the track, re-tracing your GPS
trace, which does indeed look slightly redundant.

Is there a way around this, I wonder? It would make sense to be able
to show the start and end points and then tell it to use all GPS
points in between to make a way.

I subscribed to the list to ask this particular question, as I've
spent considerable time re-tracing GPS tracks after I've asked the
software to "convert to ways".

PS: This is an excellent project that I only feel privileged to
contribute to. I am traveling in Asia for a few months and use OSM
exports for my GPS, which give me an absolutely a-ma-zing degree of
detail for most places.
