Hi Charles,
I've had a look at the OpenStreetMap data that you were referring to,
which is here:
http://osm.org/go/0EEWRwwY
The problem is that none of our volunteers have mapped the hedges in
that area yet. The good news is that there is good aerial imagery, so
hopefully one of us will get around to doing so soon. When the hedges
are added to our database, they'll show up on our maps, and WalkLondon
will be able to update their route cards too.
For example, you can see both hedges (in green) and fences (in black)
around the edge of Westmore Court here:
http://osm.org/go/euum1yQr3--
Cheers,
Andy

>>
>> On the map where the route goes across fields all you get now is an orange line on a light brown background with no features like field boundaries whatsoever.
>>
>> In the route description you've cut out everything about Foxburrows Rare Breeds Farm and the plaque on the side of Foxburrows Farm Cottages which were contained in the old version. Both of these were interesting and added to the walk. One thing I do accept is the danger of quoting opening times which do change and therefore should be given as a guide only.

>> Charles - thank you for taking the trouble to let us know about these details from your walk. I will pass these on to the Route Manager to check where we need to amend the directions on the website or take action on the ground.
>>
>> With regard to your last comment:
>> The new maps have lost a lot of detail and the route descriptions have had some detail taken out as well. Why was this done?
>> We took a decision to phase out the printed leaflets, which had all been produced at different times and were becoming out of date, and have a common mapping base for all the route sections with a separate downloadable description. In the process some of the finer detail has been lost/dropped to provide a simpler more straightforward structure. We are open to adding detail where this proves necessary to navigate particularly tricky stretches & welcome user feedback. Having this all on-line means making changes is much easier.
>>
>> When you complete the whole LOOP we issue Certificates of Completion, if you would like one- and are currently giving away Tshirts too. If you like walking with others our Winter Wanders walking weekend is coming up 30-31 jan – see website for full schedule of over 30 walks.
