[OSM-newbies] Clearing out of date GPS traces

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way to purge an area of GPS traces?   I
can think of several places like re-built motorway junctions or large
construction projects, that have made older GPS data outdated.  The
obsolete traces swamp the newer traces and making tracing awkward.
