I'm using amenity=swimming_pool + access=private for pools that are common 
to an apartment or condominium complex. I don't see a point to mapping 
pools that are for the use of a single home only.

On a related note, I use amenity=whirlpool for a jacuzzi.

I used the amenity key because that's exactly how these features are 
described in advertising literature, and there was no clear consensus on 
anything when I started mapping.
