To remove your duplicates, visit your list of uploaded traces:
substitute your user name after "user/"
http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/rw__/traces
Edit the duplicate trace via the "edit" link, the link will look
something like this:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/rw__/traces/647096
>From that page select the "delete this trace" button.
