[OSM-newbies] highway=path, type={primary,secundary}?

Hi,

Is there any way of marking the "importance" of a path? Clearly in the 
forest there are primary paths and secondary paths (which begin from the 
primary paths). Something like type=primary, type=secondary, ...?
