Lastly and if you start from basically scratch, you can use your sense
of estimation to start road maps which are at least topologically
correct ("from Station St, Market St comes first on the left, then
after the post box Main St on the right"). Many street maps around the
world are topologically correct but geometrically only a rough
approximation, so having something like this is much better than
nothing! Be sure to include a "source=interpolated" tag to not make
the next guy doubt about the accuracy of his GPS unit.
Of course, just like Archimedes, you need a defined point to start,
which you may obtain from your local authorities (Town Hall
coordinates).

Johannes Hüsing There is something fascinating about science.
One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture
mailto:johannes at huesing.name from such a trifling investment of fact.
