[OSM-newbies] Some questions

I can't get the routing plugin in JOSM to work, even though I have the
routing layer activated I can not place any points?

What is the easiest way to change how mapnik renders things? There are many
POIs that it doesn't render at all and things that I'd like to change (like
that residential roads are too wide). First to experiment with locally, then
hopefully suggest changes for the live site?

Why is there often such a lag before yahoo images start loading in JOSM? Can
take minutes for me.

Are there any tools and/or tricks to generate routes for visiting places
that needs fixing, either automatically from maplint data or manually after
tagging places you know need work?
I know maplint can generate a gpx-file, but I don't know how to turn that
into a route for my Garmin GPS...

Can anyone recommend good software for voice recording for a Nokia Series 60
phone?
