Forget it - The Cameras GPS is enough to roughly find the area
you were in. With the GPSMap 60 i am able to see on which
side of the road i am.

I bought a Sony DSC HX5V which has GPS and more important i thought
a compass. The problem is that the GPS is very poor compared to the
GPSMap 60 and the compass has issues with mass inertia. I thought
i would be able to take photos from the bike or car while driving and
later see at which position and through the direction which side the
picture is taken from.

In the end the compass has completely bogus readings while driving
or moving. The GPS sometimes takes ages to get a lock and then records
a bogus position.

So the only thing which is nice is that the images always have GPS time
in the exif header so your offset is always 0 when using the GPX track
from the GPSMap.

Flo
PS: The Sony is even more broken. When you have no GPS receiption it records
the last received position which may be a position 2 hours ago. I wished
the was a shutter lock without GPS receiption or something.
