Dear Craig,

a navigation aid normally is any kind of beacon used for the navigation
of planes. There exists beacons without any directional signal, like
radio stations, called NDB.

Another kind of beacon are beacons providing distance informations, e.
g. TACAN-beacons. The technique behind TACAN is very old, but they are
still used for refuelling planes during flight. TACAN offers distance
and direction services.

A third group of beacons are for instrument landing (ILS).

A 4th group are marker beacons (inner, middle and outer marker beacons).

And many other stuff, e. g. GPS ...

Here are some abbreviations used:
DME - Distance Measuring Equipment
TACAN - Tactical Air Navigation
VOR - Very high frequency omnidirectional radio range
ILS - Instrument Landing System

If it is true, that the license is not suitable, I will not import any
data. I think I will check it.

PS: The discussion at

is very helpful. Thanks
