Eh. Yes, I think so. Why do you expect to see your traces, waypoints or
not, rendered on the map?.

Traces are uploaded so they help other mappers: consumer gps units are
not very accurate. All gps signals are subject to (essentially random)
errors. More traces allow more precise positioning. 

Another reason for uploading traces is to provide evidence for the
ways (etc). This could be important if it was necessary to prove to
some part of the map was not copied from a copyright source.
