[OSM-newbies] Rendering houses from POIs

No, according to
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:building
building (except for building=entrance) is to be used on areas only.
What you can put on a node is the address, see
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:addr
