[OSM-newbies] "Data CC-BY-SA by OpenStreetMap" not being rendered in map

Since we're on the topic, does anyone know how to customize the
location of the attribution text? I found this:

http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/attribution.html

And details on the control:

http://dev.openlayers.org/docs/files/OpenLayers/Control/Attribution-js.html

But I haven't found anything on placing the text in a specific region
of the map. For example, in the lower left or right-hand corner. Any
ideas?
