[OSM-newbies] tagging of grain elevators

Thanks for your reply.
I took a look at the wiki page for "man_made=silo"
(http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Silo) after
receiving your suggestion. It says, in part, "A silo is a storage
container for bulk material." According to Wikipedia, a grain
elevator is "A grain elevator is a tower containing a bucket elevator,
which scoops up, elevates, and then uses gravity to deposit grain in a
silo or other storage facility." It goes on to say that the term
usually is used to describe the entire facility (e.g. the elevator
itself, associated silos, receiving and shipping equipment, etc).
While a grain elevator will usually have one or more silos, I don't
think that tag captures the full scope of what a grain elevator is.
It would be somewhat akin to tagging an entire chemical plant
"man_made=storage_tank."
In the rural U.S., and I suspect in other parts of the world, these
are important facilities.
