[OSM-newbies] POI Replace or Keep?

Hello,

Depending who you ask "gnis:feature_id" might be useful to keep. The
other tags are pretty useless.

That said: If the only edit you are going to make to the object(s) is
the removal of those tags, then don't do it. Extra data in our dataset
that that is not "wrong" doesn't hurt anybody, while removing it
actually grows the OSM database, because it has to store an extra
version of the object.

If you are editing the object anyway because of other changes/additions,
then it won't hurt to remove the extra "fluff".
