Taginfo suggests "stepover" and "squeezer" respectively - see 
http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/stile#values . A number of those 
will have been tagged by me though - back in 2008 someone said they had 
problems getting their dog over some stiles and it'd be useful to know 
more details about them.
