[OSM-newbies] ID Editor and Waypoints

With the new ID editor, tracks are imported by dragging them onto the 
map. This works fine except that it does not seem to import waypoints. 
Does anyone know how to do this?

I am using a GPX file exported from MapSource which definitely contains 
waypoints as well as a track.
