I know CHDK - I would be nervous about mechanical issues. Using 
the DSLRs would be quickly coming to the shutter release limit. And - 
mounted to the car bringing a lot of mechanical shocks and vibration.

I'd solder wires to the release buttons and use some relais to trigger
cameras. But while moving, a 200ms shutter release delay would break
mounting a 360° image from it i guess.
