[OSM-newbies] Miles and kilometers in scale?

Hi,

I observe that something strange happens with graphical scale:

  * In some maps, such this http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=10/39.5681/2.6985&layers=H, you could see that the km scale is greater than miles scale
  * But in other ones, such that http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=4/-26.15/123.66&layers=H, the km scale is lesser than miles scale

Isn't it an incongruence? Is it a bug?
