[Osmf-talk] OSMF Board Meeting

Dear Foundation Members,

The board of directors met tonight and preliminary minutes can be found here:

Of the various items discussed, one of the most important is the license change proposal.  A final version of the proposal will now be circulated to all Foundation Members this week.  An open letter is also going out to a number of figures in the Open Intellectual Property world. This will ask for any comments they might like to make, particularly on the wider impact on using our data in other open projects.  If there is no substantive adverse reaction from Foundation members and from the open letter, the board hopes to "green-light" (say yes to) a member vote on the license. The most likely date for start of voting will be November 10th and voting will be open for two weeks.
