[Osmf-talk] SOTM-EU 2012 in Finland?

Emilie and Ilya (and others),

Yes, I noticed that it's very close to SOTM in Japan and FOSS4G in Beijing.
With direct flight from Helsinki to/and Beijing/Tokyo you can join all three
events ;-) Honestly, timing is one of the weaknesses to have SOTM-EU
together with Open Knowledge Festival in Helsinki.

Other main challenge is to organize local committee. Need to discuss about
this with local OSMers here in Finland.

Isn't the date of september not too close from the main SOTM itself?

We will have Open Knowledge Festival in Finland on 17.-22.9.2012. I presume
it will be in Helsinki. At this moment, I know that there will be at least
to Open meetings:

- Open Knowledge Conference (last year in Berlin) http://okcon.org/
- Open Government Data Camp (Last year in Warsaw) http://ogdcamp.org/

So, it could be possible if we can have short SOTM-EU (2 days) in Helsinki
on that same week. Currently, this is just my own wild idea.

Somehow I missed this post :)
Pekka, that is a very good idea! Far better than Lille for osmers from
Eastern Europe. Is there some team that can help in organizing such event?
Maybe you could make a proposal/bid in wiki, like it was done for SotM?
