You know that is a rhetoric question. I can't know a single thing about
governance of OSM-US, because nothing recent at all is published
(finances, minutes ....) that  I could base such an opinion on, at least
nothing that is available in any obvious place. That you do have a nice
website is about the maximum I can say.

 I don't think pointing out that there is a clear shift of power to
people who are professionally involved with OSM away from "normal"
contributors implies that it is detrimental to governance or success for
what it is worth, except if you yourself find it a negative. 

As it was not even remotely a topic in the discussions leading up to the
elections I have to assume your electorate is happy with the outcome.
And the OSMF board, as I pointed out, suffers from the same, if to a
lesser degree.

It is simply an indicator of changing times.
