If a potentially unbalanced election cycle (i.e. many seats being up for
election in one year but just a few in another) is considered a
non-issue this would have two big advantages:

* we would not need the replacement board member concept with a shorter
term, instead any seat that becomes free could be filled for a regular
term.
* we could transit to a fixed term length right away even for current
board members which would avoid the extremely long term based on lot
currently expected for one of Mikel/Peter/Martijn/Ilya due to their
terms all starting in the same year (one of them will currently have a
two year term while another one will have a four year term).
