[Osmf-talk] Membership statistics

Recently Martin Koppenhoefer has published some information on spatial 
distribution of the OSMF membership[1] based on data he received on 
request from the OSMF.  Instead of everyone interested now trying to 
obtain this data and processing it individually i would suggest to 
create some more detailed membership statistics on a regular basis.  
The country list Martin created would be a good start here (like number 
of members per country for all countries with at least five members and 
summarily per continent for those with less).

Ideally this should also be available for associate members as far as 
this can be determined.

I know this is probably a bit of work (although not that much probably 
considering Martin just did this casually for a diary post) and it is 
not really fair to just ask for this being done but an update to the 
overall membership numbers is already half a year behind anyway.  If 
there is some mechanism to access the membership database for the 
needed data i would also offer to produce these numbers on a regular 
basis but those on the Membership Working Group are probably much more 
familiar with the data.
