I also want to add that i recognize and appreciate the difficult
situation many of the board members are in here. It is obvious for
anyone who has followed the process that the board does not and did not
have back when the decision was made a uniform position on all aspects
of the matter - yet they are in the position now to defend a common
position they have agreed on that probably no one on the board is fully
satisfied with - it is an attempt at a compromise position obviously.
I therefore try (and probably should try even more) to give board
members some slack if some of that dissatisfaction shines through in
their comments here.
But the board also needs to recognize that it is both the right and the
duty of the OSMF members here to critically evaluate and discuss the
board's statement and the positions articulated in it. And as i said
recently in the other thread it would be a good idea to show
appreciation and understanding for concerns raised, even if you
spontaneously disagree with them or if they seem to make your situation
even more difficult for you. And i think this includes staying open to
the possibility that the compromise position you have now decided on is
a bad idea.
How much appreciation, understanding and openness you receive for your
situation is directly connected to how much you develop and show for
others.
