I believe everyone on the Board agrees we need to take a closer look at this. Dorothea's current contract was set with a duration of 1 year, and due to expire soon. We extended just six months in order to give us time to discuss alternatives at the face to face meeting coming up soon. If we come up with another arrangement then, that can supersede the six month contract.

I would agree, I get the impression we function much better with her in place and a replacement would cost money and time to train.

Regarding
2019/Res05 Extend Dorothea's contract for 6 months
I would like to ask for the reason for the 6 months limit. The
alternative would be to have a contract without a fixed duration and
options for both sides to terminate the contract with some agreed-on
time limit for giving notice in advance.
I know what common parameters for work contracts are varies greatly in
different parts of the world. In my own cultural context work
contracts are traditionally (and by law) not time limited by default
and having a time limit in a work contract normally requires a material
reason (like the person being employed to work for a project that runs
for a limited duration etc.). In case of Dorothea's job i don't see a
material reason for a time limit.
Normally i would be very much in favour of making expenses of the OSMF
contingent to a repeated positive decision to actually support them and
not have an automatism in spending money for certain things. But with
employments and work contracts the predictability and dependability for
who does the work is an important factor to consider.
But as said that is my perspective and i would be interested in the
opinions of others and in the reasoning of the board for their
decision.
