I wrote a blog about why you should host SotM. Go on, do it!

The blog is my personal views and advice.
Christine also added her own, such as your bid could change the format. I
echo that upgrading your local event(e.g. city meetup) can be a good
approach.
Remember you can contact the SotM team if you have questions. We would like
to help any/all bids, you can also put your draft proposal online and
continue working on it up-to the deadline.
