I think if this could contribute towards progressing with items from
the Top Ten Tasks or some similarly important todo that no volunteer
would otherwise have the free time to otherwise complete, then it
could prove to be useful.
Or if it could result in boosting penetration of OSM or increasing the
contributor conversion factor.
I often feel that the day to day contributions that are volunteered
are very narrow and low level in nature, and that it is imperative
that OSM progresses with longer running research & development tasks
as well to stay alive and be competitive.
