Hi Robert,

This accusation is rather strong.

I do 95% of my mapping with iD, including a large number of relations, with
no issue. In fact I actually use it to FIX relations! You can break
relations (or any object) with any editor; it's not specific to iD or worse
with it. It's probably because of the large number of users that it's
caught your attention but, again, this would be the same with any editor
that had the majority share of active users. User education would probably
be better, which will forever be an uphill battle, but it's not the editor.

In my view, iD has improved considerably in the last year with relation
highlighting so gaps in, for example, routing relations are made explicit
as they are edited. It might be useful to extend this highlighting
functionality to boundaries and other relation types, if feasible. In which
case, raise a change request to the iD project.

I think your concern is valid but your blame is misplaced.
