Hi,
Austrian mapper and former osm-carto maintainer here. OSM Austria is a
small association which is mostly based in and around Vienna to my
knowledge (which might be a bit out of date). It's hard to say if they
represent the whole of the Austrian community but I think they have the
potential to do so. I have met the current chairman and some of the
officers personally back in the days when I still was in Vienna and
sometimes visited the Viennese "Stammtisch" and had the impression that
they are passionate about OSM. So I support this application. An
official local chapter for Austria clearly has the potential to foster
the Austrian community in a better way than separate associations in
different parts of the country would be able to.
Looking forward to having an OSMF Local Chapter in Austria.
Best, nebulon42
