[Osmf-talk] OSMF Board update regarding: OSM Belgium’s loan request for State of the Map EU venue deposit

Dear OSMF Local Chapters and Membership,

As you may have heard in this month’s board meeting, the board approved an
[emergency] loan of 15K EUR for the venue deposit of SotM EU, organized by
OSM Belgium Local Chapter.

We are fleshing out the details on how we can support Local Chapters under
emergency circumstances such as this, as well as the Loan Agreement with
OSM Be.

Two things to note:

   1. OSM Belgium has secured donor sponsorship; however, cash flow has not
   been initiated and their initial plan to secure the venue fell through.
   With this, OSMF is supporting the team to secure a venue for SotM EU as
   deposit is due by the end of the month.
   2. OSM Belgium is transitioning to become its own independent
   organization. They have left the Open Knowledge Foundation and are now
   temporarily under OSGeo Belgium.
