As it seems to be a GB project, it's probably one for 
https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-gb (or the community forum 
with appropriate tags) rather than here. The "reviewed" element of 
individual routes likely doesn't fit _within_ OSM, but could surely 
benefit from OSM surface / tracktype etc. data in some cases.
