I carry some of the leaflets. One I've just found folded in half in my wallet, but usually when I'm out I'll have my backpack and there are some unfolded ones in the front pocket. I've never had them on me when asked what I was doing though (hence the reason there is now a folded up one in my wallet). Times when they might have been useful - being asked what I was doing by a resident when I was collecting house numbers; being asked what I was doing by a special constable in a police car when I was collecting house numbers and someone had called the police; being asked what I was doing by another walker when I was collecting GPS traces on the seafront.
