Hi All.
I am also writing to express concern about my recent experience with
membership renewal and voting. Despite renewing my membership in May 2024,
I didn't receive my voting link during the election Day. This worried me,
especially since I actively contributed to the OMSF Campaign this year with
other team members, I was on that Campaign ensure we have more people to
Join the OMSF.
After checking spam emails there was nothing, and I tried to follow up
with the team, I was told that my renewal confirmation was stuck in limbo
since May. I finally received the confirmation email and voting link after
my inquiry, and requesting for my membership activeness status.
This experience raises several questions from me and some are.
1. How many members faced similar issues and didn't bother to follow up?
Did they vote? Not sure.
2. Is there a gap in distinguishing active from inactive members? This can
be answered by the leaders.
3. Shouldn't we maintain a dynamic database of active members for the
current year, rather than keeping all past memberships? Because why should
we have inactive members kept together with active members in one database.
I feel maybe we can try:
Conducting pre-checks before voting day to identify eligible voters.
Second: reaching out to members beforehand to ensure they receive voting
links.
Maybe this will help address member activeness and voting eligibility
issues.
Best regards,
Charles
