That was the problem ...
The clone gave me version 0.1.9! where as the zip dump is 0.1.11

I'd cloned the https://github.com/DennisOSRM/Project-OSRM-Web which was the link 
I had logged, but https://github.com/DennisSchiefer/Project-OSRM-Web is a later 
version?
