The countour lines are not drawn from information in OSM but are taken 
from external (open) sources, usually by radar measurement wiht a 
certain degree of uncertainty. Especially in steep regions or areas with 
trees they tend to be inaccurate as I understand, See 
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Contours for example for some 
explanations. So I guess there is not much that can be done here.
