[Photon] Can Photon filter to only return things in certain countries?

Hi all,

Nominatim has the ability to filter the results by country[1], i.e. you
can do a search but only return things that are in a specified
country(/ies).

Is there any such functionality in Photon?

If not, would it be hard to implement? I see there were mailing list
postings[2] about adding filters. Is that advice still relevant?
