[Photon] Komoot api vs Photon: Find addresses

Hi,

How can I get Photon to be able to search for addresses?
If you look at the route planer <https://www.komoot.com/plan> on komoot, it
handles finding any address in the world with accurate precision; however
the Photon <http://photon.komoot.de/> demo page does not. Usually, you’ll
just find the street, but not the number and it’s precise geocode.
I guess it makes sense because photon is based on Nominatim, and only POIs
are imported. Addresses are not handled very well.

So, my question is to the guys at Komoot: How does Komoot handles it then?
I thought Komoot was based on Photon?
