Could I draw people's attention to the OSM development IRC channel?
It's #osm-dev on irc.oftc.net. If you've not used IRC before you can
either download a dedicated client (I use Linkinus for OS X) or use the
web interface at http://irc.openstreetmap.org/ .
I'm usually around there and Andy is sometimes too. In particular I'm
thinking of things like r25522:

If you ask us on IRC then we can explain how and why the Yahoo display
is different (in brief, we're not allowed to access the tiles directly,
we have to use their API) and save you, or anyone, hours of debugging
trauma. :)
cheers
