Life is mercifully too short to rehash the same old argument that's been 
had for the past five years of OSM all over again, but suffice it to say 
that for a very large number of OSM contributors, wiki tag voting is at 
best irrelevant and at worst actively harmful.

yes, from three years ago - pretty much sums up my thoughts on the 
issue. Since then the "OSM knowledge" referred to in that posting has 
been diluted still further, sadly.
